About
Where you find the strength to be yourself.
I’m here to help you build a different relationship with movement—one rooted in trust, not punishment. One that honors your body’s wisdom instead of trying to “fix” it. This work is personal, political, and grounded in the belief that every body deserves to move with dignity, pleasure, and autonomy.

Meet Stacey
I’m a queer, anxious, fat human who grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and now lives in Washington state with my incredibly patient and kind wife of 15 years and our 3 dogs: Oliver (Boxador), Pumpkin (Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua), and Bob Barker (our Morkie puppy). Would you believe me if I told you that my wife and I met on Craigslist 17 years ago? I love live music, random acts of kindness, paddle boarding, running when I feel like it, cozy nights watching trashy television (“Selling Sunset” and “Love is Blind”) with Heather, triathlons, a really good slice of pizza, saying hello to every dog I meet, and reading trashy books on the beach.
Why Movement Matters (And Why Traditional Fitness Failed Us)
I’m a HAES-aligned American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer with 15+ years of training experience. I’ve taught everything from mat-based Pilates and Spin to Adaptive Strength Training, Yoga, and Bootcamps. I’ve coached runners for 20+ years, served as Head Coach for SoleMates for GOTRPS for 5 years, and I continue to have the pleasure of teaching corporate wellness classes at organizations like Google, Adobe, Davis Wright Tremaine, McKinstry, EXOS, Corporate Fitness Works, Beacon Athlete Tracking, L & T Health and Fitness, League. I’ve also taught in MANY Seattle area gyms such as Rocket Community Fitness, Fremont Health Club, GreenLake Fitness, etc.
I love movement in many different forms and I do this work because I’m passionate about it—and I love using that passion to support others in finding their own relationship with movement.
Unlearning Diet Culture, Embracing Body Trust
The fitness industry has caused real harm and trauma around movement. I’m dedicated to creating an environment for movement that is equitable, accessible, and diverse. Social justice is paramount, and I strive to continue growing in my ability to be of service to groups traditionally excluded by the diet/wellness industrial complex.
My education reflects this commitment:
- Center for Body Trust: School for Unlearning with Dana Sturtevant and Hilary Kinavey. (9 months, 2021)
Center for Body Trust: Promoting Body Trust in Your Work for Practitioners (2022) - “Yoga For All” workshops with Dianne Bondy and Amber Karnes on implicit bias, trauma-informed language, and adapting practice for all bodies (2022)
- Holistic Health Coach certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (2013)
- GGS-1 Women’s Coaching Specialist Certification (2024) with additional study on movement and PCOS, menopause-specific strength training, and pre/post-natal considerations
- EXOS Education, “The Applied Neuroscience of Peak Performance.
- Trauma and Abuse: the Unshaming Way 6 week program led by David Bedrick, JD, Dipl PW (2024)
The Body-Shame Connection: Working with David Bedrick
This work isn’t about “fixing” – there isn’t anything inherently “wrong” with you. What if you were encouraged and supported in being MORE you? This work isn’t about re-traumatizing, but having the presence of a compassionate witness to listen, validate, support, and to provide options for somatic experiencing and interventions, led by you. This is adaptive, and flexible, and about learning to listen to the intrinsic wisdom of our bodies. What if instead of shoving things down, you were supported in letting them come up and out, externalizing and giving space to that which we keep internalized? When we address shame and trauma through somatic work, we create space for growth, healing, and the ability to reclaim the narrative of your life. The cure to healing is being more “you”.
Strength, Bravery, and Kindness
I end every session with our group motto and my daily hope for you: “May you go out into the World with Strength, Bravery, and Kindness.”
These aren’t just nice word; they’re the core principles of Strength Camp.
Strength isn’t only about our bodies or about how much we can lift, it’s also about standing up for justice, even when our voices crack and we feel unsteady.
Bravery isn’t only about facing our fears. It’s about using our privilege for good, standing up for others. It’s about hearing and sharing hard truths and being vulnerable. It’s about asking for help.
Kindness isn’t only about being friendly, generous, and considerate to others but also daring to extend the same kindness, love, and compassion to all iterations of ourselves. What an action of rebellion in a world that asks us to forever be selfless and giving, and to save nothing for ourselves.
